Birmingham Sport

About us

Uniting Birmingham

Our strategy outlines a vision for an active, healthy city for everyone. Birmingham Sport and Physical Activity Trust leads that work with clubs, schools and neighbourhood groups.

Our priorities

Improve physical and mental wellbeing

We increase opportunity, choice and access, with a proportionate focus on the least active communities.

Connect communities

We use a place-based investment and support approach, focusing on areas of greatest social need.

Develop skills and confidence

We grow a representative workforce and build the skills and resilience needed to get communities active.

Tackle inequality

We concentrate resources where need is greatest, and local insight directs our approach.

Influence and connect the system

We grow the network of partners who share the goal of everyday activity across Birmingham.

Planning session for the city strategy

Our five year strategy

Creating a meaningful legacy, working with communities up to and beyond the games. The plan keeps activity local, inclusive and easy to start, whether someone wants a first walk, a club session or a route into coaching.

Trustees of Birmingham Sport and Physical Activity Trust review progress each year against participation, workforce and place-based investment.
